  1. Can't sign in with Chrome

    While I can sign in just fine with Firefox and Opera (Android), when I click "sign in" through Chrome, I just get a blank page. This appears to a brand new problem that's developed. Help?

  2. Enable SSL

    It would be cool if you'd allow access via HTTPS. Don't like to share my search queries in plain text over the internet :P

    Doesn't even need to be a valid certificate. A self signed one is fine once added to the whitelist.

  3. All my entries are lost

    Hi,

    after I edited one of my entries and clicked save, I lost everything on this page: http://shortmarks.com/s.php. Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/3wA98T6.png I can still do a search using keywords though.

    Thanks for letting me know about it. One of the cleanup fixes I made caused this. I’ve fixed the fix :) Let me know if you come across any other issues.

  6. Tip: Firefox quicksearch to link bundle

    Just sharing a tip:

    I have a link bundle called !xyz and can execute it from the shortmarks site via:

    !xyz foo bar

    That works fine. And I have the "sl" Quicksearch bookmarklet, so I can execute the following from the Firefox address bar:

    sl !xyz foo bar

    Also works fine. But that is a bit hard on the fingers to type, so I managed to create bookmarklet to allow me to type only this in the Firefox address bar:

    xyz foo bar

  7. Google reader discontinued but gr shortmark added to new accounts

    I just created a shortmark account. I see that somehow a bunch of shortmarks were presented. I guess that is just some defaults that you add when a new account is created? If so, that seems ok because then I can delete them myself.

    But I tried the "gr" shortmark that goes to Google Reader. Shortmarks did the right thing and went to the Google Reader site, but Google has discontinued the Google Reader service. So I suggest removing the "gr" shortmark from the default list added to new user accounts.

  9. Bookmarks lost!

    I only have 11 bookmarks left right now. All keywords after "cal" is gone after I tried to edit a bookmark and saved it.

  10. Open more than 3 tabs simultaneously in bundles.

    First, I love this site and the idea in general! Chrome is much faster than FF and others. Bundles is a great feature, but I have a question: Why do only 3 tabs at most open in bundles? I've tried lots of things and confirmed my sites involved are accurate.

    Just signed up, set up some shortmarks, now suddenly all my shortmarks are gone.

    I didn't have many, so I'm happy to start over, but how might I do that?

  12. Shortmarks Bookmark Launcher shortcut does not work

    Bookmarklet works but when I create a shortcut in chrome as described on the help page, the url is truncated upon saving it. After saving I have:

  14. "cala" doesn't work anymore

    i don't know if this is just me or a general problem, but for me "cala" (add an event in google calendar) isn't working anymore, i keep landing on the "normal" google calendar page.

  15. bookmarklets with parameters

    If I try to run a bookmarklet with a parameter or query string it doesn't work. Let's suppose I made the following bookmark:

    javascript:alert('%s');

    and name it alert.

    If I type alert in the address bar it works ok, but If I type alert foobar it doesn't work, but other bookmarks with query strings work ok. I hope I made sense...

  16. Allow access to shortmarks.com over SSL

    I normally use the HTTPS Everywhere extension for Firefox to keep my Google searches and other browsing habits from going over the wire plaintext, but Chrome doesn't yet have this feature. Instead, I've turned to shortmarks to alleviate that, except I realized that all of my quick searches were going over plaintext.

    It would be awesome to see SSL support, providing exactly the same services as you currently do. I'd like to access the management page and search functionality through it.

    I'd be willing to donate to the cause, so let me know. Besides that, shortmarks is awesome! Thanks.

  17. Get Shortmarks listed as a Search provider in IE Add-ons Gallery

    The instructions for making shortmarks your default search in IE are for IE 8. IE 9 has a new process, which seems to only let you install search engines from the IE Add-ons Gallery. Shortmarks is not currently listed, so I can't find any way to get Shortmarks as my default in IE 9.

  19. jaden, here is how to run the bookmarklets in url bar

    using this code as an alternative search engine in chrome the user can type for example: "magickeyword noi", instead of clicking bookmarklet and typing "noi" in the prompt.
    You could even make it recognize the other keywords server-side and redirect the user, that way it could be the default search engine and no keyword would be necessary.

  20. Problems with umlauts

    hi,
    i've got some problems with umlauts in search terms, using shortmarks. they don't seem to be encoded right - i wonder, if this is a fixable problem of shortmarks or not.
